My Project

These light wave kits will make a huge difference in student engagement and understanding about light. Any time students do hands-on labs in science, they are more interested and concepts come to life before their eyes. This year, we did not have the materials we needed for our light unit and I am hoping that with these kits, next year the 6th graders will light up while learning the science of light waves! Labs and experiments are much more meaningful than worksheets and videos!

My students are incredibly kind and hard-working, and many come from challenging situations.

We are a title 1 school, with many students in poverty. We also have a higher than average percentage of special needs students. Many have come from elementary schools where not learned very much science was taught, so they are significantly behind.
