Celebrating Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month
This project is a part of the Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month celebration because
it supports a Latino teacher or a school where the majority of students are Latino.
My Students
My school is the only middle school in the school district. My students are hard working, creative, artistic and talented! These students come from low socio-economics and have not had access to thing other students might have had access too.
My students are wonderful students who are thirsty for knowledge and the arts.
In a world so full of negativity and nay-sayers, my students strive to be better and prove their creativity and place in the world.
My Project
I teach five sections of introduction to arts, media and entertainment which focuses on all aspects of theatre; technical, and performance. The lighting equipment will not only benefit the student body, but any and all student who take my class. They will be able to design and put their design to use on a real lighting plot.
Lighting can be the difference between a good show and a real production.
This year, my students are putting on an original play. They have access to a stage in the school cafeteria, but the lighting they have access to has been reduced to the stage work lights and the cafeteria lighting. This lighting equipment will be able to allow my students to truly feel what it is like to be in a theatrical production with real stage lights.
