Celebrating Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month
This project is a part of the Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month celebration because
it supports a Latino teacher or a school where the majority of students are Latino.
My Project
I work with students with moderate to severe disabilities. In my classroom I have two students who are visually impaired, eight of my students are non-verbal, and two of my students are in wheelchairs. As I work through teaching my students about different colors, textures, light/dark, and cold/hot, this table will be used to help all my students to explore texture, light, dark, and colors.
Students with severe disabilities present with a variety of physical, sensory, cognitive, and communication needs that impact the ways they interact with and experience the world (Erickson and Geist, 2016).
Having a light table with various trays to enhance not just light and color, but art, building, and playing. All of these can be done with this item.
Help me impact my classroom in unbelievably bright ways.
