Light the Way in Art

Help me give my students Light pads that can be powered through their Chromebooks as a tool to help them develop and create various art projects.

My Project

I am one of two educators that teach Introduction to Visual Art to over 270 six grade students each school day. Light pads are a tool they need to help them develop their drawing skills and increase their confidence in creating their own original artwork.

The students that choose to take visual art in sixth grade, do so to enhance their creative abilities.

The Arts teach students to think “outside the box” and to use their imagination.

Most students have not had any formal instruction in visual art when they come to class and need reinforcement in learning the basic skills of drawing. These light pads will provide them with a tool to transfer their original artwork that they have refined from sketches to various weights of artist paper. It will also be helpful to students who are learning how to draw objects to be able to trace them from other sources and incorporate them in their finished art piece.

We will use these light pads on an ongoing basis for a variety of projects as an important step in the creative process of planning and sketching.
