This project is a part of the Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month celebration because
it supports a Latino teacher or a school where the majority of students are Latino.
My Students
To my students, soccer is more than a game. It's an outlet, a place to be free, a getaway and most of all, so much fun! The breeze from the wind outside reminds them to remain grateful for the simplest of things; they are alive and healthy. Playing as a group and a part of a team, shows them they're not alone in this life. Education can be found in their high fives and a helping hand to lift each other back up. It's in their sweat and in their tears, in the best comeback wins to the hardest of losses. Thank you for generating more light in my school community. We shall play under your shine, Cariños!
My Project
This soccer equipment will be used to give the young women and gentlemen at my school the opportunity to play soccer on campus. They currently love the game and some carry around their own soccer balls, however equipment put up on campus and made available to them will hopefully recruit more students to this positive outlet and fun!
The possibility to learn something new, to train to become better at a skill, to make once-in-a-lifetime memories, and most importantly, to not give up.
They can use the nets to host and play soccer games on campus after school, during lunch or on weekends. As for the rest of the equipment, it's for them to practice dribbling, passing, shooting and other individual as well as team soccer skills needed to grow. School for my students is their safe place, if they want to stick around after their academic commitment is over, why not allow them to and give them a space and activity to come together as well. Thank you!
