This project is a part of the Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month celebration because it supports a Latino teacher or a school where the majority of students are Latino.

My Project

The fluorescent overhead lighting that is in my classroom can have negative effects on students with autism and disrupt the learning environment. These dimmable floor and table lights create an atmosphere that is more conducive to a learning environment that meets my students' sensory needs. Fluorescent lights can affect mood and even cause headaches. The LED lights and soft dimmable lamps are shown in studies to be best for children with autism. They also look lovely.

Children's moods are affected by the lighting in a classroom.

Not only does proper lighting facilitate learning, it can help with classroom management and calm disruptive behaviors. With these lights we can make my student's classroom a calm atmosphere where the focus can be on learning and not a flickering or distracting light above them. My students are awesome kids that show up everyday ready to learn. Please help me make my classroom the best place for them!
