This project is a part of the Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month celebration because it supports a Latino teacher or a school where the majority of students are Latino.

My Students

Each student in my classroom loves learning about film. We incorporate a variety of small group and individual projects to inspire students and encourage them to take risks academically. We prioritize service to others through our morning news show. We prioritize community by creating work that gets entered into national and international competitions.

My Project

All of our students want to learn to take effective visuals for film projects. Our classes are currently using their phone cameras or Chromebook cameras for this purpose, but they are having issues with light control. These low cost light reflectors/diffusers help students with the basic idea of creating nice fill light and key light. We currently have 4 mini lessons attached to light specific projects, in addition to their independent films and news production packages. These light diffusers/reflectors will go a long way to making productions better and helping students to approach photography professionally.
