This project is a part of the Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month celebration because it supports a Latino teacher or a school where the majority of students are Latino.

My Project

We will be getting three new SLC classrooms (structured learning class) in our school this coming school year. These classrooms generally have students who struggle with over stimulation. Students who have Autism typically have high sensory needs, which are met in a variety of ways. Over stimulation can be caused by the bright, florescent lighting in our classrooms. The bright lights produce "noise" for their brains, making focusing and operating in our room difficult.

Providing light covers would reduce the light noise in our room and increase student abilities to work and succeed.

I am requesting packs of peaceful blue sky light covers to cover our current lights and provide a more mindful lighting option for students.
