This project is a part of the Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month celebration because
it supports a Latino teacher or a school where the majority of students are Latino.
My Project
This is my first year as the girls weightlifting coach at my school. With the help from you all, we will have the equipment we need in order to not only compete with other schools but also to show my athletes the proper techniques and training. The extra woman's barbell will allow my athletes to train on the proper equipment used for cleans, jerks, and snatches. The extra bumper plates are needed as we do not have many lighter bumpers to help train my athletes. The belts are going to help keep my athletes engaged as they lift heavy loads.
Weightlifting will teach my student-athletes how to push themselves not only in the gym but also in the classroom and life.
These athletes will learn perseverance and determination that will help take them beyond the sport of weightlifting and that is priceless!
