My Students
My students are curious and lively. My fourth-grade classroom is a place of discovery. I am constantly seeking ways to engage and challenge my group of gifted learners. My goal is to prepare my students to think critically and solve problems. Many of the students in our school receive free lunch due to their socioeconomic status. This lack of resources can limit the experiences students have. I hope to provide engaging materials to broaden their outlook on life and their future. Science is everywhere in the world around us, and I hope to provide opportunities to incorporate STEM into our classroom in order to prepare my students for their future careers.
My Project
A 3D pen is a pen that extrudes heated or warm plastic from the pen’s nozzle. You don’t need any software. There are no files to transfer, and no difficult tech to master. Whatever my students can imagine, they can draw. It goes from their brain to their hand.
Research says that doodling can help students feel more calm, relaxed, and even happier.
With a 3D pen my students will draw raised graphic math shapes on a piece of paper or any flat surface. They can even draw in mid-air, allowing them to instantly form 3D structures right in front of their eyes. They can create math shapes which you can pick up and hold in your hand.
