My fourth grade students are eager bookworms who crave the opportunity to read diverse fiction and *especially* nonfiction books, which appeal to their unique reading needs. My classroom is filled with students from culturally and economically diverse backgrounds, as well as some students with learning disabilities.
Please help these curious, enthusiastic readers continue to grow by placing as many books as possible into their hands.
I am confident that access to engaging books is the key to leaning. These spirited nine-year-olds are on fire to learn more!
My Project
My fourth grade readers have a wide array of reading requirements. Some of the children need to access easier chapter books to help them learn basic reading comprehension skills. Others are ready to ready for complex chapter books, and are craving higher order concepts and ideas. I am ordering books that will meet these bright and varied readers' necessities. Each individual child is unique in their reading capabilities, and so the more available books to put into their eager hands, the better for their growth.
Reading is the key to lifelong learning.
Without the available books, these engaging youngsters will not have the chance to grow as readers and deep thinkers during this pivotal time in their reading development. Once past, the time is lost.
