This project is part of the Black History Month celebration because it supports a Black teacher or a school where the majority of the students are Black.
My Students
The students attending my school come from multiple cultural backgrounds with most students benefiting from free and reduced breakfast and lunch. Many of my students also benefit from a weekend backpack program, allowing them to have meals while not in school.
My students are eager and excitable fifth graders who come ready to learn each and every day, despite their personal struggles.
It is my duty and desire to provide them a safe, positive and productive learning environment and help them grow as individuals.
My Project
My students need books to help them learn to love reading by exploring new worlds and getting lost in age-appropriate stories. Being gifted new, unread books will bring excitement to the classroom as new books is a priveledge many have never been granted.
The books listed below derive directly from a wishlist my students compiled of their most desired books.
My students deserve these new books, free of rips, tears and markings and missing pages.
Thank you so much for taking the time to read this page and support the fifth graders at Nathaniel Alexander Elementary School, we greatly appreciate it.
