More than 80% of the students in my classroom receive free or reduced lunch at school. With limited resources, the students can use all the help that they can get in enriching their school to home experiences.
My students have a variety of learning needs and I try to remove as many barriers to learning as I can.
My students are proud of what they do at school and are eager to share what they are learning with an adult at home.
The ability to provide a bridge between school and home for my students is not only desired but needed. The opportunity to provide a resource for my parents to see and understand what is being taught in school is vital to a student's success. The ability to provide the materials in the native language is even more important.
Through the PowerMyLearning program my students will be able to share, as well as possibly teach, their adults at home what they have studied in the classroom.
With the school and home connection, students will be proud of their learning and all stakeholders are involved in the learning process.
