My Students

I am a teacher in a low-income/high poverty school district. My students are faced with several challenges both in and out of the classroom. I have several students who struggle with learning disabilities. I am looking to provide my students with a creative and meaningful learning experience.

My students are creative and love to learn.

They just need materials that suit their variety of learning differences. We all learn differently and need a variety of materials to do so. We will truly appreciate any help that is provided with funding for this project.

My Project

We need a classroom set of "Lifeboat 12", because reading together as a class is important. We will break down the book into chapters and learn figurative language. They will also be able to learn about characters, plot, and reading comprehension. Being able to follow along as we read makes such an impact on my students. It really helps build their reading skills. When going over characters we will also dive into diversity and how it matters in life and in the book.

Including everyone, no matter the circumstances, is something our students really need to learn.

Reading together as a class makes such an impact on my students.
