My Students

Our junior and senior high school students are simply stellar and rise above, even when presented with difficult obstacles such as homelessness, poverty, and parenting themselves, as well as their siblings. In grades 7th-12th, ages 12-21, my special needs students strive to succeed at transitioning into the community. The struggle is real as our home base is rural with few resources.

We are located in rural southern Illinois, about an hour from Saint Louis, Missouri.

Our students are our family and we strive every day to help them learn, grow, and change our world positively. Our mission is to help students with different abilities transition into the community to the greatest extent possible. We would like to raise them to be responsible adults who contribute to the community.

My Project

Our students love a hands-on curriculum that prepares them for the future. We think some of the most important things that the students can learn are cooking skills so they can feed themselves, filling out forms so they can get a career to support themselves independently, and Life Skills they need to be fully functional integrated members of the community to the greatest extent possible.

Our project will help students learn important life skills to prepare them for careers such as cooking, filling out job application and other important social skills needed to transition into the community upon graduation.

We would like to ensure that our students have the skills they need to be both successful and independent community members as well as great employees.
