This project is a part of the Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month celebration because
it supports a Latino teacher or a school where the majority of students are Latino.
My Project
These materials will help build life skills so students can become more independent in the community. Students will learn the value of coins and dollars. With the curriculum from TPT, here are a few things students will learn: if they have enough money to purchase an item, how to do the next dollar up method, and how to use a debit card. This will expand beyond learning about money but also being able to use it to make purchases. An important idea that students need to learn is that money can buy things; the exchange of goods and money between people and merchants. Students will be able to generalize this skill into the community when students have the opportunity to go to the a store in the community and use their money to purchase items.
