My Students
I teach technology to first grade through third grade in a Title I school in Brooklyn, New York. Many of my students are from families that fall below the poverty line. I have students of varying levels, special needs, and languages all in the technology lab at the same time.
Many of my students do not have access to technology at home so when they come to the technology lab they are excited and eager to learn and get to work.
My students are bright, cheerful, loving, excited, and eager to learn.
My Project
My kiddos love coming to the technology lab, while they are there I want to expose them to as many different experiences as possible. I have set aside an area in the lab that will include coding activities as well as STEM activities, Plan-A-Path Road Builder and Learn to Code File Folder Games will be the perfect addition.
These materials will help create life long problem solvers.
These materials will help me to create a CODING / STEM Library in the technology lab, which in return will me expose my kiddos to many hands on experiences and opportunities to explore.
The addition of these materials will not only help my kiddos explore and understand coding better they will also help improve problem solving and communication skills. They will also be able to work in small groups.
