My Students

My students are an inspiration to me daily. They are creative and talented individuals who are yearning to be seen and heard. They have so much to give. They are passionate about creating and sustaining a learning community where they have an opportunity to express themselves through music, dance, digital media, and visual arts.

Our students are living examples of courage, resilience and hope in spite of the challenges they face everyday.

It is our responsibility as educators to nurture the needs of the whole child so that they may develop their full potential and become morally responsible adults. This is how we help to transform the world, by transforming one student at a time. The goal is that they grow to become reflective, honest, and empowered. I am so proud to be a part of this process.

My Project

Time Out: Life Lessons taught with Love has begun to change the way students think, feel, and trust. Life Lessons taught with Love Part 2 is an extension to Part 1 which has made a positive impact in students' lives. The additional comfortable chair and visually aesthetic lights will add to the environment currently adorning the multi-sensory room.

This project is the result of student feedback regarding what they voiced they would like to see in a space designed to support them; this is designed by students for students--giving students agency and power within school spaces.

It is important that students feel heard, safe and empowered to develop a positive sense of self which will be significant in the choices they make in life.
