Life Lessons Are Just as Important as Learning to Read
Help me give my students an understanding and compassion for the "bad" kid in class and have an appreciation for their education. These two books will do just that and the life lesson learned from them are priceless.

My Project
"There's a Boy in the Girls' Bathroom" by Louis Sachar is about the school's "bad" kid and how a councilor helps him change his life, thus changing how others treat him. One of the life lessons my students learn from studying this book is that there is more to someone than what meets the eye. Another one is that they have the power to change their own lives and how kindness matters.
Both of these books not only teach kids to love reading, but teaches them valuable life lessons.
"Class Dismissed" by Allan Woodrow is about a class that miss behaves so badly, that the teacher quits. The kids decide to keep her leaving a secret and they soon realize the importance of learning, working together and the value of a teacher.
Reading these books as a class helps my students get into deep discussions and learn not only about others, but also about themselves. Please help make a difference in my students lives by donating to this project.
