Celebrate Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month

This project is a part of the Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month celebration because it supports a Latino teacher or a school where the majority of students are Latino.

My Students

I teach at the tip of Texas, bordering Mexico, where my students speak Spanglish. They face many challenges such as dyslexia, special needs, and socioeconomic disadvantages, but that doesn't stop them from dreaming big. They are determined, hard-working children who are willing to learn no matter their circumstances.

I teach second-grade bilingual students who inspire me on a daily basis.

These students come every day excited to start class. They enjoy hands-on activities, crafts, group activities, and, especially, working with technology. They face many challenges, but they don't let these challenges take over their learning experience.

I work at a very supportive school where students come first. We are all about meeting our children's needs. Our administrators have created a safe, happy environment for everyone at our school: students, staff, teachers, and parents. I love working at the very tip of Texas where my students are very unique and wonderful.

My Project

I would like to promote Mental Health Awareness Lessons with my students. I plan to implement a lesson using the materials requested. One of them is cardstock paper. In this lesson, they will build a structure that motivates them or makes them happy. They will present it to the class. The ultimate goal of this lesson is to explore and make students aware of things that brings them joy and happiness .This will motivate and encourage them to keep participating in class and learning about the topic. This will make a difference in my students' learning as they will be apply what they learned in the lesson into their daily lives increasing a healthy mental health. These lessons will include lessons on self-awareness, confidence, and teamwork. The outcomes of these lessons will be to foster a better learning environment for all students and keeping in check their mental health.
