Celebrate Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month

This project is a part of the Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month celebration because it supports a Latino teacher or a school where the majority of students are Latino.

My Project

When teaching students with disabilities adapted physical education, it is key to teach them skills they can play/ compete in independently as adults. By teaching students how to play Frisbee golf, I can provide them with the opportunity to play a sport in their community now and into adulthood. Frisbee golf is a sport that is low cost and can be played at local parks. Frisbee golf incorporates physical education skills such as throwing, accuracy and the concept of force. With the aid of Frisbee golf equipment, I will not only be able to teach my adapted physical education students, but I will also be a able to teach these skills to the general education students. It is my goal as an educator to teach quality physical education to all students regardless of ability in an inclusive setting, which I can do with proper equipment. The Frisbee golf equipment from this grant will provide me with the resources to meet my goal to best serve all students.
