Celebrate Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month

This project is a part of the Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month celebration because it supports a Latino teacher or a school where the majority of students are Latino.

I teach 6th grade at one of the largest middle schools in Los Angeles. My students have a wide array of economic situations but lack the exposure to all the wonderful cultural experiences available to them in this great city.

Most students are unaware of the history of music as well as the aesthetic value of various genres of music. Listening only to today's hit music alone leaves a vast hole of how music has been used in various cultures and developed through the ages.

With these books and DVDs the students will be able to learn about the history of music and gain an appreciation for how the music of today has been influence by what has come before.

Your donation will allow my students to learn the foundations of music, gain an appreciation for the history of music, and recognize these great musical pieces in today's advertising.
