My Students

The school that I work at in Tennessee is over 50% military and our funding is being cut.

The students in my room are beginning writers. Some students are just drawing pictures and some are barely putting words together. The kind of school they attend is a low income school/Title One school.

My Project

Every child deserves the opportunity to put their thoughts onto paper and to be taught how to put their thoughts on paper. The materials that I have requested will be able to assist the children with being able to write. The journals have a picture section and three lines for writing. Beginning Kindergartners begin writing by drawings and the sentences for those that are able to write. The finger spacers show the students how to properly make spaces between their words! The sentence strips, dry eraser makers, highlighter tape will be used to model for the students how to write correctly. The copy paper and the clipboards will be used for the children to walk around the room. The students will be able to copy words from the room to gain knowledge of new vocabulary terms. The writing paper will be able to show a student how to form letters correctly.

We all have to start somewhere!

Why don't we start in Kindergarten? This project with the supplied materials needed to be able to model, and show students how to write! The students will be able to put their thoughts onto paper and learn a life long skills. Let's give the students the ability to say what they are unable to say.
