it supports a Latino teacher or a school where the majority of students are Latino.
My Students
Good morning my smarty second graders... let's get busy.
And so Reading class begins. Students are expected to be reading independently by the end of the year. Lots of drills so all students can learn and show growth from beginning of this year to the end. Try hard and you will succeed.
My students are eager to learn and very curious.
They come from mostly Hispanic families and low income status. Our school is very large and very difficult to maintain. Specially with all the budget cuts. Poor maintenance is a major factor. The teachers bring their own supplies to maintain classrooms clean and most importantly disinfected for our own safety as well as the kids. We cannot request much more from our parents due to the fact that they barely have enough to provide for their child's supplies.
My Project
My students will use the resources donated and learn to apply them in school for their health benefit. These resources will emphasize the importance of keeping their work area/classroom clean as well as themselves as a preventive measure. Also, to always wash up with soap after using the restroom. In addition, the importance of eating a good nutrition such nutritional snacks and how it affects learning. How water and healthy drinks will keep them hydrated. Many students get most of the life lessons at school such as cleaning and disinfecting their work area with Lysol wipes and spray These resources will be an asset for teaching the life essential skills that they will carry with them forever.
The donations will allow my students to maintain healthy habits while in school, which they will also apply at home.
We will learn how to eat healthy snacks that will promote learning. Students will also learn to maintain a clean classroom along with good hygiene. This will help reduce the many illnesses that we encounter throughout the school year.
