My students need apple juice, orange juice, water, individual snacks, cereal, hand sanitizer and toothbrushes to have appropriate life essentials to take home to fill their tummies.

Celebrating Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month
This project is a part of the Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month celebration because
it supports a Latino teacher or a school where the majority of students are Latino.
My Students
My class is filled with 15 vibrant, eager learners. They come from a community filled with poverty, homelessness, and crime, but they are filled with hope. These children attend a public school in an industrial and commercial community of New York City. The school has a high African-American and Hispanic population. Many of the students have parents who have newly immigrated to the United States from Africa or Mexico. The rest of the student body consists of students whose families have lived in the community for generations. These students are motivated to achieve the American dream and make their families proud of their achievements.
My Project
No student should say, “My stomach hurts.” I then ask them, "What's wrong?" I usually hear this from my students once I ask them, “Did you have breakfast?” A lot of them say no. This makes me sad because I don’t want my students to feel hungry or thirsty. This is why I always give them cereal, pretzels, or cookies. I try to provide my students with whatever I can give them. My students do not have many resources, and I try to provide that for them. I love my students, and I care about their feelings. I don't want my students to become distracted because they are hungry. My students are very hard workers, and I don't want them to lose in their education because they are hungry. I am requesting some essential objects for my students, which will help them with their struggle for food.
This will help my students become focused in class.
My students are not focused in the morning because of the lack of food and hygiene. My students' needs are valued to me. They are important and heard. I will like to provide my students with food, incentives, snacks, and lip balm, tissues, and sanitizing hand wipes. My students will be able to take home their individualized snacks to have something to eat. My students need life essential foods and drinks like Minute Maid Orange Juice, apple juice, water, cookies, popcorn and much more. Kleenex tissue, Windex and more cleaning supplies are needed also. I would like to have products that I can provide my students that desperately need these simple things, but lack these things in their community. I would like to provide my students with food so that they can be motivated to work.
