This project is a part of the Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month celebration because it supports a Latino teacher or a school where the majority of students are Latino.

My Students

Our students are incredibly diverse and amazing. Our high school is very large. Students come from many different situations. There are over 80 different languages spoken by students at our school. Many of our students are immigrants from all over the world.

Northern NJ has an incredibly high cost of living, so some of our families are not able to provide essentials.

However, these students want to learn and come to school despite many hardships. This project is meant to assist those that really need a bit of additional help.

My Project

A few of our students have very difficult circumstances. By helping them with a few essential items we are making it easier for them to have the confidence and security to attend school. We are asking for toothbrushes, toothpaste, mouth wash, deodorant, feminine pads and tampons.

Happy and healthy teens regularly attending classes is our goal.

Students at this age are very conscious of hygiene. It's completely understandable that some families pay other essential bills before some of the items we are requesting. Leveling the playing field for those who have truly difficulty circumstances requires only a few personal items.
