This project is a part of the Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month celebration because
it supports a Latino teacher or a school where the majority of students are Latino.
My Students
In my classroom I encourage my students to learn about the real world and prepare them not only academically, but emotionally to be successful in life. They need to learn how to collaborate together.
I teach in a Title I school where most of our students speak at least two languages.
We are a very diverse school where I expect all of my students to perform at the same level. This why I have to give them opportunities to talk to each other, work in projects together like they will have to do it when they start collage and start working. I need more places for my students to work together.
My Project
I teach about 60 students in my classroom every day and it is very important for me to have the opportunity to engage with every one of my students every day and give them one-on-one attention. I need materials to create more learning stations for them to work on while developing independent learning strategies they need to be successful and creating meaningful connections with me through one-on-one face time.
We need more tables, map-puzzle manipulatives, seat pockets, and coat racks to give my students the learning environment they need where they can focus on their work and not on their neighbors.
My student's parents have two or more jobs.
They go to work and they are counting on me to help them educate their children. I want to help my students be successful in life so they can help their families and improve their life style.
More than three‑quarters of students from low‑income households
