Celebrating Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month
This project is a part of the Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month celebration because
it supports a Latino teacher or a school where the majority of students are Latino.
My Project
Our goal is to create hands on experiences for our students to help extend what they know or are in the process of learning in the classroom currently.
Students thrive from being able to engage with content and retain that information for years to come.
With your help we would be able to enhance every area in our room, from the books they read, to the resources they can look at, to the exploration station, even writing. We explore bugs, life cycles of frogs, butterflies and worms, as well as learn about gardening. The life cycle models create a life version for them to interact with, and the butterflies will give them real models to look at up close and identify various parts of them. The act of also starting a plant from seeds in the egg cartons and watching them grow will enable them to build on a multitude of building blocks they already have from previous experiences in here. We also do a project called “Gus” in which they grow grass out of a “head” (nylons) and then they can take it and plant it at home.
