This project is a part of the Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month celebration because it supports a Latino teacher or a school where the majority of students are Latino.

My Project

I teach 6th, 7th, and 8th grade AWESOME students in a self-contained classroom. In the spring we will be learning about the life cycle of animals and I would love for my students to see the life cycle of a chicken up close and personal by hatching their own chicken eggs.

The egg incubator will give my students a chance to take care of chicken eggs, turn them, keep them hydrated and candle them to see their growth.

The brooder box and play pen will give the newly hatched chickens a place to grow. The chicken feed and water container will help my students learn the importance of feeding and watering the chicks.

Giving my students the hands on experience of taking care of something smaller than they are as well as give them the feeling of accomplishment when they see that their actions helped bring new life into the world.
