The students in this third grade classroom live in an urban area in New Bedford. The school is a small neighborhood school that students mostly walk to. I have 20 students who all have different backgrounds, experiences and learning styles! I am trying to make this year engaging to all my learners.
These 3rd graders are highly motivated and eager to learn.
We are all looking forward to a great year where all students will be engaged and will participate in their own learning.
This incubator will allow us to hatch chicks in our classroom. This project will make a real difference in these third graders lives. They will be able to see the life cycle of a chicken right in their classroom. They will be able to make connections to what they read, take notes on observations and even make predictions all based around this. In addition they will be able to track the data, read temperatures and read results while raising the eggs to chicks. This ties so many areas of learning together from science to math to writing and reading. This experience is one they will remember forever. Please help me turn these third graders in to life long learners and lovers of science!
