Celebrate Black Teachers and Students

This project is part of the Black History Month celebration because it supports a Black teacher or a school where the majority of the students are Black.

My Students

Many of us understand some of the challenges facing inner-city students, but one that is often overlooked is that they miss out on experiences that the rest of us have.

We are in a major city in north Texas at a Title 1 school.

My students are so sweet and genuinely interested in learning everything they can. The more experiences that I can provide for these little ones, the deeper they can tie the things that we learn through books to their personal lives.

My Project

By providing my students with the opportunity to observe the life cycle of a chicken with this incubation kit in real life, you are allowing them to participate in a life-changing opportunity. I have done this with students at other schools, and it always has a huge impact.

Most of these students do not have pets, and live in single-parent homes where outings are at a minimum.

I am trying to fill in some of the gaps in their lives by providing them the opportunity to be a part of something new and exciting.
