My students are special, because they are overcoming learning difficulties and tearing down the barriers built by labels, in order to become their best selves, each day. They are always striving to reach their full potential and realize their dreams.

These students are mold-breakers. They change perception and challenge old ways of thinking. My goal is to foster that and encourage and inspire them to keep being different, in the best way possible.
My Project
In my class, there are some Spanish speaking students. While I have a few books available in their primary language, there are limited numbers, and they need more to read. For the 2,000+ English books, I currently have about 30 Spanish books to choose from. This limited selection does little to foster a love of reading. Variety to reach each student in interest, language, level, and culture makes a rich classroom library and benefits so many learners.
Books have the magical ability to transport readers and teach things in a special way.
Imagine looking at books in a foreign language and never truly experiencing the way our favorite books touch us. That is why this project, to get Spanish books in my classroom, is so important to me and my students.
