A great way to learn and comprehend a new language is through context, more specifically context giving through children’s books! The books in this project will give my students more opportunities to learn the Spanish language and the culture of some Spanish-speaking cultures. They will be used in group and class assignments, and also independent studies.
Reading literature in Spanish classes also helps with interpretive reading skills and writing and comprehension skills.
Literary texts offer a rich source of linguistic input and can help learners to practice the four skills - speaking, listening, reading, and writing - in addition to exemplifying grammatical structures and presenting new vocabulary.
