Students at my school are a caring, creative, and unique bunch. They are full of personality and are not afraid to let their passions shine, no matter how obscure. Indeed, one of our more popular clubs is String Band. The sounds of traditional folk music can be heard throughout the halls, and members of the school's folk dancing club can be seen busting a move to the tunes.
Our school places heavy emphasis on 5 core values or the 5 Rs: responsibility, respect, reach, relationship, and resilience.
Our students strive each and every day to embody those values and often exceed expectations. The resiliency they have all shown lately in light of the challenges presented to them throughout the pandemic has been especially inspiring to see.
My Project
With no official library at our school, some colleagues and I took it upon ourselves to create one in a small, unused space. To help with upkeep there are some supplies that are sorely needed. Namely, a cabinet where the student librarians can securely store the supplies they use as they perform their duties. Other supplies they need include a variety of Sharpies as they are often labeling items and Command hanging products as they work to make the space more enjoyable for other students utilizing the space. Lastly, there are a few in-demand books to help better round out the collection we have.
Our student librarians would LOVE to have any of these objects available for use.
