This project is a part of the Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month celebration because
it supports a Latino teacher or a school where the majority of students are Latino.
My Project
At my school the population of our English language learners has increased year after year. About two thirds of our population are Newcomers which means they are in the beginning stages of learning English. These students also happen to be Immigrant students who have traveled from different countries in the hopes of a better life. As my students increased, we quickly out grew the small office I was using for instruction. But I am excited to say that with this new school year we will have a bigger space dedicated to out English language learners! This means that will have the space to create the fun and cozy library my students deserve.
Help me and my students get the storage bins and book stands we need to create and organize out first library specifically for our English language learners!
The clear storage bins I am asking for will be used to group together the books we have by level. The colored storage bins will be to organize and display some of our favorite book series and favorite authors. The book stands will be to help display books that are culturally relevant and that represent characters and authors that represent our students.
