My Students
I teach at a Title I school in San Diego and have the opportunity of teaching a very diverse group of students. Throughout the year, we come to consider our classmates friends and family, and our classroom becomes home.
I want my students to know that I not only see their differences and needs, but I understand and accept them as well.
In our class, we spend a lot of time on social emotional learning and becoming compassionate students that can work together. We are constantly exploring different careers and passions to try and figure out what we love. Whether my students choose college, trade school, or the military or go directly into the work force, I want them to know they have a bright future!
My Project
We are hitting grammar and writing hard this year! These fun and quick books keep the kids engaged and learning the parts of speech along with our interactive grammar notebooks. These books will be a great addition to our library and the shelves will give me a space to highlight the books that are relevant to our learning that week.
I also want to create a quiet corner where kids can unplug from their electronics and use their imagination.
LEGOs are a classic and kids can create so many different things with a handful of legos. After an entire year of online learning they need opportunities to unplug and just create.
