This project is a part of the Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month celebration because
it supports a Latino teacher or a school where the majority of students are Latino.
My Project
I work as a district librarian for the Redwood City School District. There are 12 schools in the district serving grades K-8. The school libraries have been notoriously under-funded and they are lacking in books and supplies.
The students love the library and are eager to check out books!
These various items from Demco are super high quality and kid friendly.
They will help students at our schools be able to find books more independently. They will also help students understand library organization systems as well as the alphabet.
It is hard to get funding for items like this through the school sites but they are so necessary for keeping up with other (well funded) libraries and providing students access to reading materials. Visually, these materials will make a huge difference as well and will help the library look welcoming and kid-friendly. Thank you so much for considering
