Help me give my students a library that will get them excited about reading! I am a brand new teacher and have no books for my classroom. Reading levels in 3rd grade are crucial to their academic success.
This project is a part of the Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month celebration because
it supports a Latino teacher or a school where the majority of students are Latino.
My Students
My students bring a beautiful diversity to our school. They all have so many unique attributes that brighten our classroom. They come from various cultures and backgrounds which allows for interesting conversations. Some of them are quietly social, while others are bursting with excitement.
Although my students are wonderfully diverse, they share the important qualities of kindness and acceptance.
They are still at the sweet young age in which there is little judgment and they can all be friends. This can make seating challenging as they will all talk to anyone they are sat by during instruction. It warms my heart to see it, though. I love that they are all such good friends.
My Project
I am a brand new teacher looking to grow my classroom library so that my students can be excited about reading. Reading has been showing to help students grow in every single subject, not just reading, alone. Third grade is a pivotal year for students to level up with their reading. It has a major impact on the rest of their academic career.
I chose books that will intrigue my students and entice them to read.
There are very popular series, to keep them interested and coming back for more. There are also books about how to handle our emotions, American heroes, and why math is a part of our every-day lives.
