Library Of Plays For Young Actors

My students need 15 plays that will engage and expand their love of theater.

My Students

Can you remember reading or performing a great play for the first time? Encountering classics will take our theater program to a higher level.

The kids in our school are talented and driven.

They also have some of the most difficult circumstances to overcome. Over 70% of our students are eligible for free or reduced lunch and many come from homes that experience extreme poverty. These experiences create extraordinary human beings who love the performing arts and excel on stage.

My Project

Having great skill as a performer can only be enhanced by having access to quality resources. Great plays by talented playwrights will allow our students to take their skills to the next level. Being able to perform parts of these great texts, such as "A Raisin in the Sun" or "Inherit the Wind" will open their eyes to the world of great acting and great plays. The other texts from great playwrights such as Woody Allen and Noel Coward will expose them to ideas and thoughts from beyond their neighborhood and let them encounter the work of many modern artistic world.

Making a difference by contributing to this project is so important to the creation of well rounded actors.

They will read, perform, and engage with great texts and grow as performers and as human beings. With your help we will provide resources where they are lacking and will expose students to the theater world in new ways. The performing arts are so important to the formation of a young person. Please support this work.
