I have twenty-five Sheltered English Immersion (SEI) students in my classroom. My students are from a large, urban community that welcomes families from all over the globe. Our school brings a special blend of linguistic diversity, background knowledge, prior experiences, and culture. We are a Title I school in a low-income community. Free breakfast and free lunch are available to every child in our building each day.
My students are creative, clever, and very enthusiastic about learning.
The majority of my students read below grade level. They would benefit from a variety of classroom resources to help increase their success in school. My students need to have technology experiences that help foster 21st-century critical thinkers. I want all of my students to be able to use technology in our classroom daily.
My Project
Library makeovers can help give new life to areas of the classroom that students may overlook. These new seats are able to be moved around the classroom to have the students sit where they feel most comfortable during their daily allotted structured reading time. The new lighting can both inspire and remind the students to spend more time over in the classroom library.
Help me foster a love of reading in my students by creating a warm and inviting classroom library, complete with new library seating and lighting.
