My Project

I am the lucky teacher/librarian at an elementary school. I feel my role is to get students excited about reading and interested in learning more. This will help create lifelong learners who will grow and learn through literacy. These materials will help guide my instruction as I will use them to introduce my topic and provide follow-up activities to expand the students' learning.

With this project, I am requesting a computer cart and children's books that will be used during my library lessons that will allow my students to get excited about reading.

I will use these materials to guide my instruction and spark students learning. Students can also use these books independently to read on their own as well. With the cart, I will be presenting interactive lessons to make the books come alive for the students.

I believe that early literacy plays a pivotal role in shaping a child's future academic success and lifelong learning by honing crucial language acquisition, phonological awareness, and comprehension skills. Through direct instruction and interactive teaching strategies, these essential skills can be nurtured and our students can prosper.
