Celebrate Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month

This project is a part of the Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month celebration because it supports a Latino teacher or a school where the majority of students are Latino.

My Students

I teach 2nd grade in an urban community outside of Boston. My students come to school everyday eager to learn, grow and succeed.

The majority of my students come from low-income households and have faced many challenges at such a young age.

My Project

By building a diverse classroom library, my students will be able to grow their knowledge and appreciation of different cultures and holiday through these read aloud books.

With a new bookcase, these books will be easily accessible to my students in our classroom.

Picture books are a great way of building confidence and motivation during independent reading. My students love read aloud and independent reading, so growing our classroom library with different books will foster their love of reading.

My goal is to have each student's love of reading grow and their motivation to learn about different cultures and holidays be fostered.
