Celebrating Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month
This project is a part of the Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month celebration because
it supports a Latino teacher or a school where the majority of students are Latino.
My Project
Help my students by supporting the revamp and expansion of the library. The school library is the center of the school, and is a hub for fostering community on campus.
With your help we can expand the library collection, seat an entire class comfortably at tables, and allow the students to easily access books.
Currently, the tables and chairs within the library do not work for the small and narrow space, especially with only 10 chairs for students to sit on. The bookcases are to allow for me to expand our library collection, this school year I added over 1,000 new books and I am running out of shelf space! The bins are to help students look through high circulating books easier. The other miscellaneous items are supplies that are desperately needed for the library and students throughout the year.
My plan for large furniture items:
Tables- Have four straight tables with stools that can seat an entire class in the center of the library
Bookcases- Add new bookcases to left side of the library to expand fiction, Spanish, non-fiction, and graphic novel sections. Put rotating book case out for new books. Forward facing book display for book highlights and heritage months.
Note: I know this is a large ask, and I am so grateful for any support.
