My Project
Due to COVID-19 many of my students are having a tough time reading at a 3rd grade level. Most of the students had received a virtual education during their kindergarten year. This is their first year of structured education. Having lost this year of education within the classroom was extremely detrimental to my students and their ability to read fluently. Many of my students are still having trouble with basic phonemic awareness, and blending letter sounds together, and some are even having trouble with letter recognition. The materials I have chosen will help close the gap for these children who are struggling. These materials include leveled readers, headphones for using online resources, dry-erase markers for note taking, and sets of phonics materials to enhance reading.
