Our school serves students in grades K-6 and provides rigorous academics to amazing, motivated language learners in a safe learning environment. Our goal is to prepare our students for success in high school, college, and future careers. The students in our school are about 70% ELL and speak about 20 different languages.
There are many different languages in my classroom and in several different cultures.
The students come to school with no supplies to use. For these students, life in our city is very different from their lives before coming here. We strive to be at all times respectful and appreciative of each other's culture and strengths. We believe that all students bring a unique set of gifts to the classroom.
My Project
The materials (crayons, glue, pencils) will help us do projects throughout the school year. Clorox wipes and tissue will keep us healthier throughout the year and help keep germs at bay. Notebooks, dividers and index cards will help organize the projects that we are doing in the library.

Since I work with grades K-6 we go through a lot of school supplies to help us complete projects required in our curriculum. My students do lots of projects (state reports, ancient civilization reports/projects, all about me posters, etc...
The students look forward to doing these projects throughout the school year. The students come from limited-resource families and these supplies would help so much.
