My Project
I have ran the library for Four Corners elementary for about 15 years and always try to find ways to work art and creativity into our library activity centers. My centers are STEAM based, I added the "A" for art because I was previously an art teacher and see so many potential artists in every class I am teaching of course!
While I usually buy the supplies myself, I have found as the years go by that I have been less and less able to afford to provide fun projects for my centers and find myself providing them less often, sometimes needing to choose which class gets them and who will go without.
Choosing only the older classes has been my go to choice, and the younger students aren't getting the chance to have those creative experiences.
Recently a teacher let me know she missed seeing all of the lovely projects coming back to class with her students and reminded me that Donors Choose might be the right way to bring back all of the supplies without coming out of my own pocket each month. I would love to be able to have all 348 students create and experiment with art. When I have to buy the supplies alone, I can't afford to buy them for everyone and that's breaking my heart.
