This project is a part of the Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month celebration because it supports a Latino teacher or a school where the majority of students are Latino.

My Project

Help our library engage more readers with book displays and a proper library cart! We don't have a working book cart or any ways to display books.

Research shows that students are more likely to look at and read books when they are displayed and highlighted.

The students at Muir deserve a library that meets their needs with proper book displays that showcase the amazing books we have in our collection. Additionally, these displays can be used to display student artwork and other projects.

The big expense of a new library cart is something that mini-grants can't meet. Right now there is not a working cart in the library which makes reshelving books very challenging. As a solo school librarian, the new cart would help my day-to-day tasks and help keep the library organized. The cart can also double as a display or facilitate bringing books to classrooms and expanding the impact of the library.
