My Project
Students at BLA have the opportunity to use the library throughout the day, including during classes, study halls, and after school. The librarians at BLA strive to ensure that the library has the resources to support all students in a variety of ways.
The library is looking to expand our collection of board games and puzzles to meet the needs of teachers planning lessons and students looking for meaningful activities during and after the school day.
Teachers use board games to plan engaging lessons and cognitively demanding projects, while students use board games to build strategy skills, as a stress and anxiety relief, and to form meaningful connections with peers. In particular, board games with maps can be used in a variety of content areas to build knowledge of the world and critical thinking skills.
