it supports a Latino teacher or a school where the majority of students are Latino.
My Students
Our students are eager to learn and take joy in working in a bright learning environment. Help us create a safe reading and testing environment for our students.
Our students are brilliant children that come from challenging backgrounds.
They live in the poorest area of their city, in one of the poorest cities in the United States. They are curious, yet bashful. They are inquisitive, yet lack the confidence to grab hold of the opportunities laid before them. They need nurturing and motivation, as well as a positive environment, where they will feel excited to learn, and have fun while doing so.
My Project
My students need a clean, safe environment to sit and read, as well as conduct research, and take online reading quizzes. The chairs that are currently being used, are old and unsafe, since the plastic on some of the chairs is cracked causing pinching on the skin or snagging their clothes. With these bright, new chairs, not only will the small computer lab be more inviting, it will be safer for our students. These chairs will provide safe and comfortable access to computers during group and individual research projects, online testing, e-book reading activities, etc.

Every year, I evaluate how to improve student learning, collaboration, learning environment, student enrichment, etc, and these chairs, as simple a request this may be, will greatly impact student learning by encouraging students to come in and use the library computer lab. Our aim to is make the library feel welcoming, safe, and inviting and to give our students the positive learning environment that they deserve.
