This project is a part of the Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month celebration because
it supports a Latino teacher or a school where the majority of students are Latino.
My Project
One of my main goals each year is to create a love and passion for reading. One way to create a love for reading is through choice. Students are given the opportunity to select the type of books they want to read, and see added to our classroom library. It is also important for students to be exposed to historical literature to gain knowledge about the world, develop empathy, and emotional awareness.

Along with books comes creating an area where students can sit, relax, escape, and enjoy the many stories they will encounter. By adding a rotating bookshelf it will give the opportunity to add more books to our class library. Classroom libraries improve student motivation and engagement towards reading. With the opportunity to add more books to our class library, students will get the opportunity to borrow more books and read more.
